Dr. Shannon M. Lewis
Dr. Lewis received her Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University. She then attended the University of Oklahoma College Of Dentistry, receiving her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1999. She did a General Practice Residency at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois for a year, and then practiced as a general dentist in private practice for 2 years in Chicago. She continued her education, receiving her Master of Science and Certificate in Orthodontics from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2004. Dr. Lewis then practiced as a private practice orthodontist in Richmond, Virginia for a year, before moving back home to Oklahoma! Dr. Lewis opened her practice in Edmond May 1, 2005.
Dr. Lewis is a member of: The American Dental Association, The American Association of Orthodontists, The Oklahoma Dental Association and Edmond Women’s Club. She is on the Board of the Oklahoma Dental Society, and the leader of a Spear Study Club.
Dr. Lewis is happily married to David Lewis, who was also raised in Edmond. They have two daughters and one son. She is excited to get to know you!
Dr. Steffen received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Iowa in 1972. He completed a residency program in 1974, earning a master’s degree (MS) and a specialty certificate in orthodontics from St. Louis University, recognized as one of the top orthodontic programs in the country.
He has been in the private practice of orthodontics in Edmond, Oklahoma since 1974 and in Clinton, Oklahoma since 1975. He has won three national awards for excellence, has published original research papers and numerous articles, both in local and national orthodontic journals.
He lectures throughout the country on a wide variety of subjects related to his specialty. He is an Associate Clinical Professor of Orthodontics at the Oklahoma University School of Dentistry.
Dr. Melissa Farrow
Dr. Melissa Farrow graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a B.S. in Nutritional Sciences. She completed her Doctorate in Dentistry at the University of Oklahoma in 2003.
After graduation, Dr. Farrow completed a one year General Practice Residency at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City. Upon completion of this residency, she entered the Orthodontics Residency Program at the University of Colorado in Denver and completed her Master’s training in 2006. Following her Orthodontics residency, Dr. Farrow joined Dr. Steffen in practice in January of 2007.
Dr. Farrow is an active member of the American Dental Association, Oklahoma Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, and the Oklahoma Orthodontic Society. She received awards for outstanding Orthodontic, Pediatric, and Esthetic Dentistry while in training. Her graduate studies led her to complete research which has been published in the American Journal of Orthodontics.
